The second day of the start-up conference for the Dickens Universe was fairly light in work — I attended a panel and two book talks (one of which was interesting, the other not so much) and we didn’t have very much work we needed to do around these. Mark and Josh slept in and went to see Josh’s new place of work and then went to have a look at the Salton Sea nearby, another salt lake that I actually went to with Uschi 25 years ago, on my first trip to the States in 1987 when we were staying with her friends in LaJolla.<\/p>\n
