Today was our last day with Peter and Andrea. We spent the morning walking on the beach after we had breakfast, and then, in the earlier afternoon, Uschi picked us (Mark and me plus A & P ) up and we went once more to Wismar, to show Peter and Andrea the town (like us three days earlier, they had never been). We discovered a few more gems (a church with an interesting flat ceiling of painted wood and some more fun older buildings), had ice cream at the same place, and by sheer luck caught a guided tour in the big church (St. Nikolai) that went up to the level above the lower roof parts, with spots to look down over the main nave of the church and also out of various windows over the whole city.

Andrea and Peter really liked the town and their whole mini vacation with us, and we really had a wonderful time with them. We then took them to their train at Grevesmuehlen and stopped, on the way home, in a small town called Kluetz where a big estate modelled on the 17th/18th English great houses is being remodelled and where there is also a cute little windmill that we took a quick look at. We had dinner with Imke and Hermann and the kids and later just one more little walk, since we never get tired of checking whether the ocean is still there.
