Uschi and Wolfgang checked out today and stopped by on their way home to Oldenburg. They kindly took one of our suitcases back already. We knew we had a mixed weather day ahead of us and didn’t try to do anything very ambitious; there was a lot of lying about and short walks under mostly grey skies. Imke made a wonderful meal, after Mark and I had gone shopping for the stuff we needed for the last time (enjoying our time alone very much) When it got a little nicer in the afternoon, we rented a “beach basket” and read the rest of Anansi Boys together. But the nice weather didn’t really last. We tried again after dinner, but checked out the pier first and got caught in the center of town by a downpour. In the meantime, Kati went to the basket location to find us there (we did for once not have our phone) and got even wetter than we did when we made our way home. We took hot showers and had some hot chocolate, which helped a little, but it was clearly a day for an early bedtime.
